Emergency food aid was provided to 759 families from socially vulnerable groups of the population, as well as handing over clothes to 169 people.
According to the UAE Red Crescent program, 571 orphans received financial assistance for a total amount of 57.5 million tenge in Almaty.
During the January riots, branches of the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan provided checkpoints with hot meals, as well as personal protective equipment and antiseptics.
As part of the humanitarian operation with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to assist victims of the January events, the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan handed over 700 food parcels as part of the Emergency Relief Fund (DREF) operation in the cities of Almaty, Taraz, Kyzylorda and Taldykorgan. In addition, monetary assistance was provided to 855 employees of small and medium-sized businesses who lost their jobs due to riots in Almaty and 45 employees in Almaty region.
Through the Restoration of Family Links, more than 60 appeals were processed and about 80 labor migrants were returned to their homeland (including women and children). The transfer of personal hygiene products to specialized receivers for detainees was also organized.
Several regions have suffered from devastating floods since the beginning of this year. Heavy rains caused flooding of residential buildings in Pavlodar, Aktobe, Mangystau regions, and villages of Turkestan region were in the emergency zone twice. The Red Crescent of Kazakhstan, together with the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, provided assistance to more than 4 thousand Kazakhstanis whose homes were damaged by rain floods. The total amount of assistance provided in 2022 exceeds 400 million tenge.
Residents of Auliekolsky and Karasu districts of Kostanay region, whose houses were completely burned down as a result of the fire, received 1 million tenge each within the framework of the “Help Card” project. Assistance was provided to 100 families living in the villages of Amankaragai, Ozernoye and Lublinka. The total amount of funds allocated within the framework of the “Help Card” project, implemented by the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan jointly with the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation and ForteBank, is 100 million tenge. These funds will allow the victims to cover the costs of essential goods and provide decent living conditions while new houses are being built. In addition, 74 households that were affected by the fire in Kostanay region received assistance through postal orders, thanks to donations from concerned citizens, the corporate sector and the Swiss Red Cross.
On November 27, 2022, as a result of the accident, part of the residents of Ekibastuz remained without heat. The very next day, a technogenic emergency was declared in the city. Administrative buildings and residential buildings were left without heating. The temperature reaches -30 degrees. From the first days of the emergency, we assessed the needs of the victims and fed the services that eliminated the consequences of the emergency.
We have also announced a collection of donations for the victims. To date, for your donations and for donations from various organizations, we have transferred for the victims:

– Warm blankets 250 pcs
– Felt boots 73 pcs
– Heaters 143 pcs
– Alaska boots 34 pcs
– Winter boots 7 pcs
– Dry rations 242 pcs
– Food sets 150 pcs
– Baby diapers 100 packs

– Wolt Kazakhstan – who collected 4,500,000 tenge through their applications for emergency victims
– Adil Zhalelov (Scriptonite) for assistance in the form of heaters in the amount of 1,000,000 tenge
– Pricewaterhousecoopers LLP – transferred 600,000 tenge, for which we purchased and transferred blankets and heaters for the victims
– McKinsey Kazakhstan – transferred 500,000 tenge, for which we purchased and transferred food packages for 50 affected families
– Procter&Gamble – handed over diapers for children in the amount of 1,000,000 tenge, which we handed over to the families of the victims
– METRO Cash&Carry hypermarket chain – handed over food in the amount of 1,000,000 tenge, which we also handed over to the families of the victims
In connection with the January events, the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan provided support to medical institutions and sanitary units By transferring 781,750 units of medical devices to the National Guard in Almaty and Almaty region.
Also, voluntary donors were mobilized throughout the country to donate blood and its components.
