Heavy snowfalls and the subsequent dramatic warming led to devastating floods in the Aktobe region. The villages of Khobdinsky and Wilsky districts were the most affected, where more than 100 families were forced to temporarily leave their homes.

After the announcement of an emergency in the region, the Red Crescent team conducted a house assessment and collected documents. In total, 449 people were included in the list for targeted financial assistance.

To help the affected families, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation allocated about 45 million tenge.

The joint project of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan and ForteBank “Help Card” has been in effect since 2018. During this time, it was possible to help more than 14 thousand Kazakhstanis affected by natural and man-made emergencies. Last year alone, within the framework of the “Help Card” project, the affected families received about 500 million tenge.
