In the spring of 2024, our country was hit by devastating floods. More than 120,000 people were forced to flee their homes. Our offices in the affected regions and cities started helping the affected people from the very first days.

We would like to thank everyone who did not stand aside and donated to us. Thanks to concerned people from all over the world we managed to collect more than 37 000 000 tenge.

Our work is not finished yet, as the next stage – reconstruction – is still ahead of us. In the meantime, we would like to tell you what we have achieved so far.

In total, more than 26,000 people received aid from the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan.

We handed out:

  • Over 10 tonnes of clothes and shoes
  • Over 25,400 units of sanitary and hygiene items
  • 19 tonnes of food
  • Over 34,000 litres of drinking water
  • 365 warm blankets, heaters and boots
  • 4,260 sets of bedding (mattresses, pillows, sheets, etc.)
  • 55 shovels
  • 55 bayonet shovels
  • 955 rubbish bags

In the space of a few days, the Red Crescent provided 850 people with hot meals and sent 110 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the affected regions.

More than 300 Red Crescent volunteers are currently involved in the response.

We continue to mobilise resources to support the affected population during the recovery phase.
