Today, on April 20, the Department of Emergency Situations of Almaty conducted the first planned citywide seismic survey this year. During the first quarter, more than 2.8 thousand exercises and trainings have already been held in the city’s organizations, they are held quarterly.
The main purpose of seismic training is to increase the level of preparation of the city’s population for actions in extreme situations, so that the population determines evacuation routes, safe places in advance, and prepares alarm suitcases.
The citywide seismic survey was attended by residents of the city who are at facilities with a mass stay of people – shopping malls, shopping malls, all social facilities of the city – schools, kindergartens, higher educational institutions, healthcare institutions, business objects. 80 pieces of equipment, about 700 personnel of the emergency services, civil protection services, units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and other interaction services, including the Red Crescent of Kazakhstan, were involved.
