Helping orphans with the Emirates Red Crescent
The Red Crescent of Kazakhstan, together with the Red Crescent of the United Arab Emirates, provides financial assistance to orphans. Assistance is provided to children from low-income and large families without fathers.
The co-project was launched in 2002. Then 50 children received assistance. Every year this number has grown and, as of today, more than 3,000 children are under our care. Each child receives a benefit of $588 per year ($49 per month). This benefit is paid to the child until he/she reaches the age of majority.
Project objective:
Take care of orphans from low-income and large families without fathers.
The Representative Office of the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of Kazakhstan has its own main program intended for:
- children from incomplete families who have lost their fathers due to death;
- full orphans (both parents died), who remain in the care of close relatives.
We do not deal with the following cases:
- when the mother dies and the father is alive;
- the father is alive and abandons his child;
- the father is unknown or they give birth for themselves;
- both parents abandon and relatives become caregivers;
- other similar cases that do not comply with the rules.
At the time of consideration of documents, the child should be under the age of 10 years (because the consideration process is very long).
If there are less than 5 children in the family, only 1 child, the youngest one, is considered.
How the process works:
First of all, the applicant collects a set of documents and visits our office in Almaty.
The office checks his/her documents and sends them to the commission for approval.
After approval, the set of documents is sent to the Central Office in the UAE, Abu Dhabi, for consideration.
This consideration takes a very long period of time, at least 12 months, and then different decisions are made as each case is considered individually.
Someone can get an answer in 12 months, someone in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 years, and so on.
There were cases when no answer was received. In such cases, we cannot do anything (a possible reason is that there is no sponsor). Because every child requires a personal sponsor.
If the answer comes, we call up, explain and take measures. Assistance comes ONLY after receiving an answer to your document.
According to the rules, if a positive answer comes to your document, the child will receive assistance from us once every six months or once a year before the age of 18.
! Note: it all depends on SPONSORS, they have the right to stop assistance at any time. You cannot resubmit your document.
